The Headteacher of St Paul’s Catholic Primary School was recently invited by HFL Education to share how the school is supporting pupils, families and the community through the ongoing cost of living crisis.
In an article featured in the latest edition of the Eliminating Economic Exclusion (EEE) Newsletter, Mrs Katie Worton-Geer described the range of services St Paul’s offers to those in need.
“Our school’s ethos, alongside our Catholic faith – compassion, solidarity, service, and love for one another – call us to not only educate but to uplift and help those who are facing difficult circumstances. This is why we have worked hard to create a community where families feel and know they are supported, and where no one feels excluded or left behind, building and creating a path to start to eliminate economic exclusion,” she wrote.
She highlighted that in partnership with a Catholic charity, the School provides crisis grants to help cover essential needs such as emergency supplies, furniture, and household bills. “These services are rooted in our belief in social justice – the idea that we must stand together as a community and help one another in times of need,” she added.
