St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Waltham Cross recently held a vibrant Art Week, giving pupils across the school the opportunity to develop and apply a wide range of artistic skills.
Throughout the week, every class took part in daily art lessons, exploring diverse techniques and approaches. Pupils generated ideas using sketchbooks inspired by a variety of artists, while developing skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, craft and sculpture.
The programme also focused on key formal elements such as colour, line, shape, texture, form and tone, as well as learning about artists and evaluating their own work and that of others.
Katie Moseley, Headteacher of St Joseph’s (Waltham Cross), said: “Art Week gave our pupils the chance to immerse themselves in creativity every day, building confidence, skill and enjoyment through different art experiences.”
She added that the school will continue to introduce a range of themed learning weeks to provide pupils with varied opportunities to explore their creativity, develop new skills and deepen their enjoyment of learning.
