  • Racial Justice Learning at St Joseph’s (Waltham Cross)

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Waltham Cross recently presented a learning activity titled “Racial Justice Sunday”, centred on the theme of “Whoever loves God must also love his brother and sister”.

During the activity, pupils wrote short blurbs about the saints they are learning about and reflected on how they can follow their example in today’s world. As part of their learning, pupils also created school artwork, using a variety of media, including paint, pastels, collage, and watercolours.

In addition, pupils were encouraged to write in their home languages as well, celebrating the diversity within the school community.

Katie Moseley, Headteacher of St Joseph’s in Waltham Cross, said “The Bible reminds us, “Whoever loves God must also love his brother and sister” (1 John 4:21), and the saints lived this out by caring for others and being faith filled and brave. Even though they were all different, they shared a love for God and for people, reminding us that we are one family and that everyone is called to live with faith, courage, and love.”

Pupils were encouraged to write in their home languages as well, celebrating the diversity within the school community.
