Celebrating the Jubilee of Education in Rome

From 27th October to 1st November 2025, the Jubilee of Education took place in Rome, bringing together Catholic educators from around the world. As part of this significant event, Pope Leo XIV launched an important new document on Catholic education – an Apostolic Letter titled “Drawing New Maps of Hope”.

Cardinal Vincent Nichols has provided a helpful summary of the Letter, along with reflections on the Papal Mass for Catholic Educators held in St Peter’s Square on 1st November. During this Mass, Saint John Henry Newman was declared a Doctor of the Church and named co-patron of Education.

At the end of the Mass, the Pope delivered a beautiful and heartfelt homily, in which he addressed all engaged in Catholic education and encouraged us in our continuing service to young people.
