  • Trust Schools Join Festival of Hope at Westminster Cathedral

Representatives from all of our Trust schools gathered at the magnificent Westminster Cathedral in London to take part in the Festival of Hope liturgy, a joyful and uplifting celebration that brought together schools from across the Diocese to mark this Jubilee Year as “Pilgrims of Hope”. The event took place on 24th June 2025.

The liturgy was led by Cardinal Vincent Nichols and included a moving procession of pledges, as well as adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, all set within the awe-inspiring surroundings of the Cathedral.

It was a proud moment to see pupils from Trust schools play meaningful role in the celebration. Two Year 6 pupils from St Thomas of Canterbury led some of the Prayers of Intercession, while two pupils from St Paul’s participated in the pledge procession, presenting their Year of Hope pledges directly to the Cardinal.

Some representatives from St Mary’s Catholic School, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School (Bishop’s Stortford), St Joseph’s Catholic School (Waltham Cross), St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School, St Cross Catholic Primary School, and St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School gathered for a group photo after the event.
