Fantastic Results for St Mary’s Catholic School students
St Mary’s Catholic School is celebrating another year of exceptional success, as its Sixth Form students achieve outstanding results and secure places at top universities and degree apprenticeship programmes.
Miss Deirdre McHugh, Headteacher, praised the achievements of the students and the values they exemplify:
“St Mary’s prides itself on combining academic excellence with outstanding pastoral care and personal development. We are immensely proud not only of these excellent results, but of the remarkable young people our students have become. Many are heading off to leading universities and competitive apprenticeships, and we celebrate their individual journeys.”
“While they may be leaving us today, they will always remain in our hearts and an enduring part of the St Mary’s Catholic School family. I would like to sincerely thank our dedicated teaching and associate staff, who have supported students tirelessly both in and out of the classroom. These results have opened doors for our students—but academic success is just one element of our broader mission to develop confident, compassionate individuals prepared to make a positive impact.”
Mr B. Noble, Head of Sixth Form, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the personal growth of this year’s leavers:
“As Director of Sixth Form, I could not be prouder of our Year 13 cohort. Their determination, independence, and resilience have been truly inspiring. It has been a privilege to witness their development into mature, capable individuals.”
“Whether moving on to higher education, apprenticeships, or the workforce, we are confident that they will continue to thrive. Their achievements are well-earned, and we look forward to watching their continued success.”
Mr P. Carroll, Chair of Governors, expressed his pride in both the outcomes and the school's ongoing direction:
“The Governing Body is pleased with this year’s results and the clear, values-driven path the school continues to follow. St Mary’s is a close-knit community rooted in Catholic values, and our goal is to nurture students who not only achieve academically but also become caring, responsible members of society.”
“We are especially proud of those progressing to the Universities of their choice, with many selecting prestigious Russell Group institutions. Their success is a result of their hard work, the unwavering support of staff, and the commitment of their families. We couldn’t be more proud.”
As St Mary’s Catholic School celebrates the achievements of its students, it also looks ahead with optimism, continuing its mission to inspire excellence and foster integrity in every young person who walks through its doors.
There are many students whose outstanding results have provided a strong springboard for future success, and we celebrate each of their achievements. Our students have secured places at a wide range of prestigious universities, including University of Durham, University of Exeter, Warwick and Loughborough to study diverse and exciting courses such as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Economics, Maths and Law. This breadth of choice is a true testament to the expert advice and personalised guidance offered by our Sixth Form Team, who work tirelessly to help each student find the right course to match their individual goals and aspirations.
