  • Education Sunday 2025 – “The Son of Man must be lifted up”

This year, Education Sunday will be celebrated on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, with the theme taken from the Gospel reading of John 3:13 – 17: “The Son of Man must be lifted up.”

Education Sunday is one of the oldest days of prayer for education in England and Wales, reminding us of the Church’s mission to help young people learn, grow in virtue, and discover their vocation. The theme drawn from John 3:13-17, recalls the then-Holy Father Pope Francis’ call to follow Christ’s humility.

On this special day, St Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust sends every blessing to pupils, families, and staff across our schools, and encourage everyone to take part in parish and school celebrations as together we give thanks for the gift of Catholic education.
