  • Celebrating the Feast of St Francis Across Our Trust Schools

Today, schools across the Trust celebrated the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, our Trust Patron Saint, with liturgies, reflections and creative activities in their own communities.

At St Joseph’s (Waltham Cross), the whole school gathered in church for Mass in the morning. During break time, pupils enjoyed a special treat of squash and biscuits. In the afternoon, pupils took part in an art-themed St Francis session. Mixed into their house groups, pupils created collages, stained glass designs, portraits and animal-themed art pieces. The finished works will form a whole school display in the hall.

At St Paul’s, the Chaplaincy Team led a special morning assembly they had carefully prepared. In the afternoon, team members visited classes to deliver presentations about St Francis. They also guided pupils through a range of activities, including crafts, art and music, inspired by the saint’s life.

At St Mary’s, pupils began the day with a special Examen reflection, focusing on the life and mission of St Francis. Several pupils gathered in the chapel to pray and reflect on his example of faith and service. Looking ahead, on 8 October, the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal will visit to share more about St Francis and their mission in London with Key Stage 3 students.
